After a third consecutive finish to start the fall, the Florida women’s golf team will travel to the Windy City Classic October 4-5.

# 1 Oregon, # 2 South Carolina, # 4 Michigan, # 7 Duke, # 9 Florida, # 11 Virginia, # 12 Texas, # 14 Southern California, # 15 Arizona State, # 20 Iowa State, Augusta State, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Northwestern (host), Purdue and Stanford.

The Gators recorded their second third in a row to start the season at the Mason Rudolph Championship last weekend. UF again finished under par (-11) as a team and had the best result of the tournament.

Clara Manzalini placed T7 to lead Florida as they recorded their second below par this fall. Maisie Filler wrapped up the final round with multiple career ratings. The sophomore posted a career low of 67 (-5) en route to her best tournament score at 212 (-4) and finished in T10. After one penny on the first nine, she stayed perfect the rest of the way and had four birdies on the last five.

The outing will mark the sixth appearance at the tournament as Florida finished third in fall 2019 behind former Gator Sierra Brooks who finished under 8 at 208. For three consecutive seasons (2016-19), UF has placed fourth at the city’s Windy Classique.

The Gators have been selected in two preseason polls – # 19 by and # 21 by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association. Besides Annabell fuller was ranked 23rd preseason player by and was selected on the ANNIKA Awards Watchlist for the second consecutive season.

Florida is currently ranked ninth in this week’s rankings.

The Gators qualified for their 21st consecutive appearance and 26th overall in the regional NCAA and narrowly missed the top 6, finishing one stroke behind USC in 7th. Member of the SEC All-Freshman team, Maisie filling led the way with a T12 finish.

Outside of the playoffs, Florida defended their home run and won the sixth straight Gators Invitational title. Annabell fuller has achieved a career performance by winning his first individual title behind his lowest round (66, -5) and the tournament as a whole (202, -5). Marina escobar (T12), Clara Manzalini (T12) and Jenny kim (T15) all placed in the Top-25.

Florida welcomed two newcomers ahead of the upcoming season as freshman Ester Fägersten and transfer Jackie Lucena. Fägersten Both Gators made their Cougar Classic debut with Lucena shooting 216 (E) for T24 and Fagersten 219 (+1) for T36.

UF was out for a few weeks, then wrapped up the fall season at The Ally at Old Waverly (October 25-27).
