Gujarat CM Approves Rs 63.37 Crore For Water Supply Works In 6 State Municipalities | Ahmedabad News


AHMEDABAD: Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel has given his approval in principle for various water supply works of Rs. 63.37 crore in 6 municipalities in the state. He gave his approval in principle for various water supply works under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana include 21.87 crore in Mahuva Municipality, 13.69 crore in Balasinor, 9.08 crore in Khedbrahma, 6.38 crore Crore in Idar and 7.76 crore in Thangarh and 4.95 crore in Sikka.
These water supply projects are being undertaken taking into account the 2036 population estimates in these cities in the state. The works to be undertaken in the municipality of Mahuva include 22 lakh liters of sump, Rising Main, Gravity Main, distribution system, etc. Currently, 11 MLDs of water are distributed to Mahuva from the Mahi and Narmada pipelines.
The municipality of Balasinor provides 10.52 MLD of water from the existing source. The works of this water supply system for Balasinor include a water intake well, pumping machines, an ascending main block, a pumping station, a distribution system, etc.
In the municipality of Khedbrahma of the district of Sabarkantha, the plan for supplying water to the inhabitants of the city with adequate pressure mainly consists of a water collection chamber, a riser, a gravity pipe, an underground sump, a station pumping station and a distribution system network, etc. The works that have been approved in the idar municipality of the same district include the construction of elevated reservoirs in different areas, the laying of pipelines and the chlorination arrangement and the repair of the existing sewage treatment plant.
The other two municipalities for water supply works are Sikka Municipality of Jamnagar District and Thangarh Municipality of Surendranagar. As a result, a new scheme has been planned in Thangarh town for the drinking water network in the newly developed areas and in the old village area as there is an old AC pipeline network.
The new water supply system will cover the operation of the sump, elevated tank, riser and gravity pipeline, including the development of head works with the aim of supplying water at a pressure adequate in the municipality of Sikka.
The works which have received the approval in principle of the chief minister of these cities under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana must be completed within one year after obtaining the technical and administrative approval.
