KATMANDU: The Nepalese Congress (NC) is now organizing municipal conventions in the district of Kathmandu.
With the directive from the Central Election Committee to hold neighborhood and municipal conventions in districts where the issue of active membership has already been resolved, the municipal convention is held in Kathmandu.
Kathmandu election official and senior lawyer Narahari Acharya said the NC held conventions in 10 municipalities, including the Metropolitan City of Kathmandu (KMC).
However, the municipal convention does not take place in the municipality of Dakshinkali. “The municipal convention of Dakshinkali municipality will not take place today because the issue of active membership has not yet been resolved,” Acharya said.
People in general view the municipal convention of the federal capital Kathmandu with great curiosity.
The Central Election Commission has already settled the issue of active memberships in more than 70 districts, paving the way for the party convention.
CN has already decided to hold the 14th General Convention from November 25 to 29.
