Officials said a male officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in question, the driver exited the vehicle and began shooting at the officer, causing serious injury. The officer is believed to be in a life-threatening condition. Authorities are looking for a gray Ford Taurus with temporary Missouri tag 03GU43. The driver was only identified as a Caucasian male with brown hair, carrying an unknown firearm. The initial incident occurred on 21st Street in North Kansas City at 10:41 a.m. The vehicle was last seen heading west on 21st Street from Clay Street.
