October 25 Meeting of the Metropolitan Transport Planning Organization

The Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (MTPO) for the urbanized area of ​​Gainesville will host a virtual hybrid meeting at the County Administration Building (12 SE 1st Street, Gainesville) on October 25, 2021. The meeting begins at 3:00 pm.

The public can provide comments to the MTPO in person or by calling 1-800-741-8011. If you are attending in person, wearing a mask is strongly recommended for unvaccinated people. The public can view the meeting on Cox Channel 12 and the county’s video-on-demand website.

The MTPO is responsible for the continuous, comprehensive and cooperative urban transportation planning program for the Gainesville metropolitan area. This planning program is necessary in order to receive federal and state funds for transportation projects. The voting members are the five commissioners of Alachua County and the mayor and six commissioners of the city of Gainesville. Non-voting members are the person designated by the president of the University of Florida, a rural councilor appointed by the Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization, and the person designated by the secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation District 2. Personnel departments are provided by the North Central Florida Regional Planning Council.
