The Arlington Select Board plans to hold a public reception next month to officially introduce new City Manager Sandy Pooler to local residents.
It is set for 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8 in the Lyons Courtroom at Arlington City Hall. Light refreshments will be served.
“Many residents are [already] familiar with Mr. Pooler through his excellent [previous] work as Arlington’s assistant manager/chief financial officer,” Board Chairman Len Diggins said in a recent city press release.
“Now that his duties have been greatly expanded, we invite the public to stop by and welcome him to his new role.”
Pooler has worked for the city since 2016, first as Deputy City Manager and then as Deputy City Manager/Chief Financial Officer when Arlington’s Consolidated Department of Finance was established in 2018.
“Arlington is a wonderful community,” Pooler said in the city’s statement. “I look forward to further engaging with its citizens, its committee and board members, businesses and city staff who make it a place to live, work and visit so pleasant.”
Pooler’s first day as city manager was June 18, following a reception at City Hall for Adam Chapdelaine, the manager since 2012 who plans to start a position in Boston in September. Go to the city website for more information.
