Riverhead Town has announced dates for the first round of meetings for residents to weigh in on updating the city’s comprehensive plan.
Four meetings will be held in person at the Riverhead Senior Center in Aquebogue and via Zoom starting at 6 p.m. The topic of presentation for each meeting is divided by hamlet.
The dates and objectives of the meetings are as follows:
- Sep 13: Aquebogue, Northville, Laurel, Jamesport and South Jamesport
- Sep 27: Wading River and Manorville
- September 28: Calverton and Baiting Hollow
- September 29: Riverhead Hamlet and downtown
“The City‘s consultants will explain the community engagement process and then engage participants in an open dialogue to gather comments, questions and concerns from the community,” according to one. Press release from the city supervisor’s office.

The site includes an interactive map and an anonymous public survey that will remain open until November 1. Project progress has been stalled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The city’s town planning consultancy, AKRF, is expected to complete its part of the work on the plan by August 21, 2022.
