Saint-Cloud lawmaker holding “Defending Democracy Town Hall”

(KNSI) – A St. Cloud-area lawmaker will hold a town hall later this month to discuss voting rights and democracy.

Representative Dan Wolgamott will be joined by Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon and community members for the Defending Democracy Town Hall.

“The murderous January 6 attack on the United States Capitol did not mark the end of the Conservatives’ efforts to destroy our democracy for their political gain,” said Representative Wolgamott. “Elected Republicans in Minnesota are doubling down on Donald Trump’s baseless lie that the election was stolen to undermine Minnesota’s nationally respected electoral system. I will not stand it. I’m holding this town hall with Secretary of State Steve Simon to discuss ways to fight voter suppression and defend your right to vote.

Since the 2020 elections, more than a dozen states have enacted election laws. To date, more than 400 voter-related bills have been introduced in 49 states.

The Town Hall will take place on September 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Lions Park in, 4310 Dublin Drive, St. Cloud MN 56301.
