Sheikh Hamdan announces restructuring of Dubai Municipality

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has announced a new organizational structure for the Dubai Municipality.

Under the new structure, Dubai Municipality will include four new agencies, facilitate better governance, privatize eight main activities and create 10 billion dirhams of new economic opportunities.

According to the Crown Prince of Dubai, “The restructured civic body now has institutions for the environment, facilities management, building licensing and waste management. With the increased efficiency created by the new agencies, the team will develop exceptional new services for the people of Dubai.”

He then tweeted “We are fully convinced that the CEOs of the new sectors in Dubai Municipality drive innovation and achieve Dubai’s ambitious goals. Our goal is to build new productive partnerships, improve financial sustainability and develop services that improve the quality of life in Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan said the new organizational structure of Dubai Municipality comes in line with the directive of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, issued at a previous meeting of the Dubai Council.

The new organizational structure aims to maximize the economic, tourism and commercial impact of the municipality’s public goods, creating economic opportunities worth 10 billion dirhams, establishing a new phase of development and providing innovative services .

In recent developments, Sheikh Hamdan announced the launch of the Dubai Metaverse strategy on July 18. The strategy aims to make Dubai a global hub for the metaverse community and build on the emirate’s success in attracting over 1,000 blockchain and metaverse businesses. . It also promotes Dubai’s ambitions to support over 40,000 virtual jobs by 2030.
