In addition, two other cases are under investigation.

The municipality is undertaking a vaccination campaign to vaccinate dogs in various parts of the metro and the government is urging the public to have their pets vaccinated.

This is a joint initiative with the Department of Agriculture and Land Reform (Veterinary Services) in collaboration with municipal health services, disaster management and public participation of the metro.

The municipality is calling on residents to take note of a rabies outbreak and signs in dogs and other pets that include aggression, bites and drooling.
