Two hospitals in the municipalities of Awutu Senya East and West welcomed a total of nine babies on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Hospitals registered eight births, including seven men and two women on Christmas Eve and one birth on Christmas Day.

Kasoa Polyclinic under Awutu Senya East Municipality hosted a total of eight babies over the two-day celebration.

The facility registered seven births, including six men and a woman, on Friday, December 24, and welcomed a baby girl at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 25, 2021.

At the Awutu Health Center in Bereku, a 3.1 kg baby girl was born on Christmas Eve while no births were registered on Christmas Day.

Bernice Yeboah, the midwife in charge, said the mother and baby were doing well and were out on Saturday afternoon.

“Last year and 2019 we saw a lot of deliveries, including twins. But this year, they didn’t come at all, ”she observed.

Saint Gregory Hospital in Gomoa Budumburam and mother-child hospitals did not release their records, citing confidentiality and administrative protocols as reasons.
