Illumination and Universal Pictures present The Grinch, based on Dr. Seuss’ beloved holiday classic telling the story of a cynical grumpy man who goes on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart changed by the generous holiday spirit of a young girl. Benedict Cumberbatch lends his voice to the infamous Grinch, who lives a lonely life on Mount Crumpet inside a cave equipped with inventions and contraptions for his daily needs with only his trusty dog, Max. When his neighbors in Whoville state that they are going to make Christmas three times bigger this year, he decides that there is only one way for him to gain peace and quiet: he has to steal Christmas. Funny, heartwarming, and visually stunning, it’s a universal story about the spirit of Christmas and the indomitable power of optimism.
